I get asked all the time what made me want to open an adult store? Well here’s a cliff notes version (do people even use those anymore?!).  I was attending college and working a full-time job, when I decided to supplement my income by doing fun in-home toy parties. These parties were like Mary Kay/Pampered Chef at-home parties. I would educate and sell products, except instead of selling makeup or kitchen supplies. I would sell vibrators and other bedroom accessories.  When I did these parties -I always heard the same thing from my customers- If I had a retail store here in San Antonio? Because the way I presented it made everyone so comfortable to shop for these intimate products and all the stores here in town were not “nice”.  So, I went to every store in San Antonio and didn’t get that warm, welcoming, friendly vibe (lol). I knew I could do better and decided that I wanted to create a nice, upscale shopping experience unlike anything else in San Antonio. So after doing home parties part-time and working a full-time job for 10+ years, I decided to take the leap and I literally quit my day job. I opened up Love Shack Boutique in 2012, and it has been the best decision I ever made! We now have 2 locations and an event center where we host classes, private parties, and educational workshops.

On another note, we are proudly family-owned and operated, my niece, Alyssa is our amazing general manager.  When my other niece, brother, and sisters visit they also get in on the action and get to work helping assist with events, and on orders, etc.  My 81 year old mom also likes to help any way she can, she makes all the gift baskets, and swag bags for our events and parties.

I am a certified sex educator through the American College of Sexologists. I also have a B.A. from The University of Texas-San Antonio (UTSA).  As a business owner and active community member, I am a professional associate of the following organizations:  The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO)-San Antonio Chapter, I currently serve on the Board of Directors for The San Antonio Women’s Chamber of Commerce.  Statesman and member of The Alamo Ranch / 151 Business Association and a member of The Helotes Area Chamber of Commerce.  I am also a co-founder for the women’s networking group, Women and Wine on Wednesdays.

Alyssa has been working at Love Shack Boutique since 2014. You can say she is a staple member of the Love Shack Boutique. While working at The Shack, Alyssa acquired her degree from Northwest Vista College. Throughout the years, Alyssa has become knowledgeable about adult vibrators, lubricants, lingerie, and other various products in the industry. The best part of her job is the opportunity to be an advocate for sexual health and wellness. Also breaking the stereotypes when it comes to sex. A lot of people may not know what they are looking for, and that’s okay. With the knowledge she has obtained, she navigates customers toward products that align with their sexuality, needs/wants. With her outgoing personality, she will have you smiling ear to ear when it comes to anything in our store. You can call her your local sexual health guru.

Tori was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She is the newest member of the Love Shack Boutique team. She is currently in college pursuing a degree in Sociology. Eventually Tori would like to become a sex therapist. She loves the vibrant and diverse work environment at Love Shack Boutique. She cannot wait to share advice and educate others about sexual health.

Arielle is a San Antonio native who is currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Her hopes are to pursue a career in Labor and Delivery. Arielle first heard about the Love Shack Boutique when our owner Amy was giving a presentation in her Human Sexuality course. Amy expressed that her team was looking for someone to fill a part-time position. Arielle quickly jumped at the opportunity and has since become further educated on not only products but sexual health. These skills give her the tools needed to provide the best customer experience possible. Arielle’s favorite part of her job is the ability to have open conversations around regarding human sexuality. As well as normalize how individuals discuss sex.

Melinda is from Grand Prairie, Texas, and was raised here in San Antonio, Texas. She has worked at The Love Shack Boutique since 2019, and started off as a part-time employee. Melinda is now a full-time manager for both of our locations. Throughout the years she has gained knowledge in the sexual health industry and is now assisting in the buying as well as managing our online store. What she enjoys most at the Love Shack Boutique are the connections she makes with vulva owners in her age group and understands the different changes in life.  She also enjoys the special bond she gets to create with everyone that comes through the door.  She strives in making sure that everyone walks out of the store leaving with a positive and empowering feeling when it comes to sexual health and wellness.

Dr. Harper is a licensed professional counselor, certified sexologist, certified clinical nutritionist, writer, certified hypnotherapist, and certified YogaFit yoga instructor.

Wow, that makes her sound super-fancy. But she’s actually pretty fun to hang out with, and she loves both teaching at The Love Shack Boutique and referring her clients to go shopping there. With so many options for your dollars in this city, why the Love Shack Boutique? Because Amy and her team are completely dedicated to making sure your visit is both comfortable, educational, and freakin’ FUN. In all the years she has sent people to the Love Shack Boutique she has never heard ANYTHING other than what an amazing experience they have had. That is some seriously awesome customer service and she is humbled to be part of the team!
